WHAT IS TISS
Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) is renowned for its masters program in HRM & LR (Human Resource Management and Labor Relations) formerly known as PM & IR(Personnel Management and Industrial Relations). The TISS is recognized by UGC and is accredited by NAAC as Grade (A). The TISS conducts TISSNET 2017 to the social science aspirants annually. The master’s program are MPH, MSc, MHA and MA. Its main campus is in Mumbai, Tuljapur and other campus are at Hyderabad and Guwahati.
TISS AND TISSNET EXAM ADMISSION
TISS is for post graduate MA courses in interdisciplinary areas of social work, health, management, development,habitat and climatic science. Tata Institute of Social Science is an “A” graded institution for HR. TISS has 09 schoolsand 03 independent centers along with its main Mumbai campus. TISS offers socially relevant M.A. / M.Sc. / M.P.H./ M.H.A. academic programmes. Belieiving that excellence is inculcated through the quality of aspirants enrolling each academic year the institute conducts Tata Institute of Social Sciences National Eligibility Test (TISSNET) for admission into TISS Mumbai, Tuljapur, Guwahati and Hyderabad campuses.
Candidates are required to apply online through the e-application only, available on the Institute’s website http://admissions.tiss.edu. Candidates from remote places where no internet and telecommunication facilities are available can get a printed copy of the application form from the Institute Candidates have to apply through the online application form only. Following are the steps involved in filling up the form After login candidates have to fill in their basic details, academic details and have to mention the programmes they wish to apply for in the order of preference
Here’s the eligibility criteria for TISSNET 2017:
a) Candidates with bachelor's degree (minimum of three years duration) or equivalent from a recognised university are eligible to apply.
b) At the time of applying, candidates studying in three-year degree programmes should have passed all subjects from first to fourth semesters; while candidates studying in four-year degree programmes should have passed in allsubjects for first to sixth semester.
c) Only those candidates who will be able to complete all the requirements of their final year Bachelor's Degree examinations by the first week of June 2017 are eligible to apply to all the programme.
d) There's no age limit for TISSNET exam.
Till the time the candidate submit results of the final year degree examination, admission to any of the Master's Degree Programmes of the Institute will be provisional, informed the official website. Those who fail to do so the provisional admission stands cancelled.
Aspirants can register online by filling e-Application form available on the official website. Candidates can apply for three programmes in two TISS Campuses. Students also have the option to fill for multiple programmes in one online application form. The application fee is Rs 1030 for one programme.

The application fee for TISS-NET 2017 is Rs 1030 ( application fee for Rs 1000 plus bank charges).
Candidates belonging to SC and ST category, whose parent’s/guardian’s annual income is less than Rs. 2.5 Lakh while candidates belonging to OBC category, whose parent’s annual incole is below than Rs 1 lakh are required to pay Rs 250 as application fee.
In case of payment through cash deposit in an SBI branch, Rs 50 will be included as processing fee.
Mode of Payment
The mode of payment can be either in the form of SBI Challan/online payment through Net Banking/ Credit /Debit Card.
TISSNET 2017 will consist of 100 multiple choice questions related to subjects of Social Sensitivity, Logical Reasoning, Analytical Ability and Knowledge on Contemporary issues. The duration of the test is for 100 minutes i.e 1 hour and 40 minutes. There is no negative marking.
Shortlisted candidates (those qualifying TISSNET) will be called for Pre-Written Test and Personal Interview. For Pre-Written Test, candidates will be given two sections to attempt.
Section one will involve essay writing on a given theme related to contemporary socio-political, economic, cultural and political significance must contain less than 1000 words.
Section two will comprise of questions related to given case study.
After the written test, the candidates will have to appear for personal interview.

All the duly registered candidates will be able to download the TISSNET 2017 admit card from December 21 to 22, 2016. It will be sent only through email and under no circumstances, the admit card will be sent via post. TISSNET admit card is an important document which must be carried by the candidates to their allotted test centre for the purpose of verification. The details such as exam centre address, date, time, name, signature etc. of the candidates will be mentioned on the admit card. All such details should be verified properly by the candidates and in case of errors; the same must be brought to the notice of TISS for correction. No candidate will be allowed to take the exam in case he/she will fail to produce a valid admit card of TISSNET.
The TISS will announce the TISSNET 2017 results on 2nd February 2017 officially on their website.
