Mamata Banerjee is an Indian politician who has been the 8th Chief Minister of West Bengal since 2011. Banerjee was born in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal to a Bengali Brahmin family headed by parents Promileswar Banerjee and Gayetri Devi. She grew up in a lower middle class family. Banerjee's father died due to lack of medical treatment, when she was 17. In 1970, Banerjee completed the higher secondary board examination from Deshbandhu Sishu Sikshalay. She graduated with an honours degree in history from the Jogamaya Devi College, a women's graduate college in southern Kolkata.
Satabdi Roy (born 5 October 1969) is an Indian actress and director who is known for her work in Bengali cinema. As an actress she ruled the array of commercial Bengali cinema during late eighties and nineties. As a director she has been denounced critically for her manifestation of superfluous theme. She is a Trinamool Congress Member of Parliament, Lok Sabha since 2009. Satabdi Roy passed her Madhyamik from Sorojini High School in 1986 and later attended Jogamaya Devi College, a women's college affiliated to the University of Calcutta.
Indrani Haldar (born 6 January 1971) is an Indian actress who is mostly known for her work in Bengali films. She was confered with a National Award, three BFJA Awards and two Anandalok Awards. Indrani was born in the city of Kolkata. Her father is Sanjoy Haldar. She finished her schooling from the Multipurpose Girls' School and graduated from Jogamaya Devi College, an affiliated women's college of University of Calcutta. She was trained in classical dance by Guru Thankamani Kutty.
