Candidates are required to be of 20 years of age or above by the year he/she is appearing in the entrance test. Applicants must have passed 10+2 (class XII) or its equivalent with an aggregate of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. They should have also secured 55% marks in each of these three subjects. Candidates with a three year Diploma in Engineering with minimum 60% marks, awarded by any State Board of Technical Education are also eligible. Students, who appear for AEEE examinations in March/April and expect to secure minimum marks in their 12th or equivalent, may also apply.
As per AEEE exam pattern 2018, Amrita university will conduct the entrance test in the offline and CBT mode. Students can take the test in either of the mode as per their preference. Candidates have to attempt questions from three sections- Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry and complete the paper in two and half hours. There will be 100 multiple choice questions with total marks of 300. For every correct response, 3 marks will be awarded. Candidates must mark an answer only if they sure as incorrect response will lead to negative marking.
Selection is based on the rank obtained in the All India Amrita Entrance Examination conducted by Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham
