IIT Hyderabad made a remarkable change over wearing Pochampalli capes rather than graduation gowns

Students of IIT Hyderabad did a tribute to the weavers by wearing pochampalli capes designed by them

A general practice is to get the gowns for rent from the local vendors cost each around 450 rupees while the cost of the pochampalli capes dress wears costing the same.

The convocation capes had color codes - BTech wore deep brown; MTech wore light blue and Ph.D. scholars were given yellow.

This year, the weavers were given just two months to make the capes even though they needed at least 90 days.
